The implementation of the Internet in modern society has brought significant transformations, democratized knowledge and breaking geographical and socioeconomic barriers. The access to vast amounts of information has expanded opportunities for research and learning (SOUSA, 2022). Furthermore, it has strengthened civic participation and political engagement, allowing individuals to express their opinions, debate social issues, and access relevant information about governments and public policies (COSTA, 2022). However, it is important to address the challenges related to digital dependency, which impacts mental health, personal relationships, and productivity (SANTOS, 2022). Developing self-management skills and establishing healthy boundaries in Internet usage are crucial in promoting a balance between the virtual and real world to preserve individual and collective well-being in the face of technological advancements.
