Direct selling is one of the ways in which consumer industries can easily access consumers. Data from the WFDSA (Word Federation of Direct Selling Associations) show that Brazil occupied the 6th place in the global position of direct sales in the world with revenues of R$ 9,760,000 million dollars in 2019. This work aims at analyzing the direct sales business model from its origin to the current figures and its impacts on the domestic economy. Therefore, studying the topic provided a vision of how the retailers' activity can impact household income. A qualitative and quantitative research was developed and made available to independent retailers from different sectors, providing 140 answers. Based on these responses, analyzes and graphs were carried out that made it possible to understand this relationship of financial impacts on the families involved in the autonomous retail process. It was also possible to identify the profile of these retailers. The analyzes allowed us to conclude that entrepreneurs who work in direct sales often do so out of necessity, and the management of these retailers by companies is important in order to attract and retain customers to make them references of the brand with which they operate.
