Abstract

The realization of urban expansion is in the continuous course of events of contemporary and ethnosocial history of global magnitude and also locally, in a way that stimulates the advance of an urbanized region, urban agglomerations develop according to a specific condition of the structure of the entire urban fabric. Understanding the process of urban expansion with the use of Geoprocessing tools, such as remote sensing, make the recognizing of the growth of cities very efficient. Thus, the objective of this work was to analyze the urban expansion in the district of Jurupema located in the city of Taquaritinga-SP from 2004 to 2021. The methodology used for the research was the visual analysis of satellite images using the free software Google Earth Pro (GEP), to analyze and identify the variations in the urban and rural expansion of that district. The main changes that have marked the Jurupema district in recent times were marked by the alteration and occupation of the soil which the cultures of Lemon, orange and guava were subtracted, causing changes in the rural landscape, motivated by the advance of the sugarcane culture and, there was no substantial increase in the urban area.

Master in Education from Centro Universitário Moura Lacerda de Ribeirão Preto (2011), with research on Oral Acquisition of the English Language, Teacher Training, Language Teaching, Teaching Practices and Approaches. He has a Full Degree in Letters (English and Portuguese) from Faculdade São Luís de Jaboticabal (2003), a Lato Sensu Postgraduate course at the Specialization level, in the area of Education, called "Didactics - Theoretical Foundations of Pedagogical Practice", from of Education São Luís de Jaboticabal (2002) and Full Degree in Mathematics from the Centro Universitário de Araraquara (1998). She works as an English Language Teacher in Higher Education at the Faculty of Technology of Taquaritinga (FATEC-TQ), at an Elementary and High School of the Public Network of the State of São Paulo, in addition to teaching classes in Basic, High School English and advanced in language school. Author of the book "Língua Inglesa: the acquisition of orality from the meaning of the English Teacher profession" (Editora Appris- 2016).
