SOCIAL MEDIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the fear of contamination, combined with movement restrictions and other health security measures, drove people to the internet, especially social media services, more than ever before. The world had to adapt and with that communication became mostly digital. Considering the denoted factors, an analysis of the practices of new and old users of social media is proposed, based on materials related to the topic, a survey applied to users and data extraction from an application programming interface, to assist in the search for new behaviors, TikTok played an important role in research as a study object. An important part of the conclusions obtained was the entertainment factor; most of the world population is more open than ever to content considered fun in the time that we are living. In the end, the objective is to understand what the main motivations for this increase in flow were and assess the future of post-pandemic social media.
