In a world where food plays a crucial role in our lives, ensuring that the food we consume does not pose risks to our health is a constant concern. In this context, the focal point for ensuring the safety of consumed food is the Food Safety Management System (SGSA). In this study, we examine the perception of leaders and key employees in a plant producing sugar for human consumption about the importance of the Food Safety Management System and establish its connection with public health. The results indicate broad recognition of the importance of SGSA in preventing foodborne illnesses, although they reveal gaps in understanding and a lack of clear metrics to assess its impact.
