This article addresses the complex relationship between motherhood and career within the context of the workforce, highlighting the profound gender inequalities that persist to this day. Its main objective is to identify the challenges faced by women in balancing these two important aspects of their lives: motherhood and professional careers. To achieve this, a questionnaire was administered to women who are mothers. The results indicate that the lack of adequate support policies, coupled with social pressure to choose between career and family, further exacerbates these disparities. It is concluded that there are still many challenges faced by women in balancing motherhood and career. In light of these realities, the implementation of concrete measures to promote gender equality in the workplace becomes urgent, including policies to support working mothers, the promotion of a prejudice-free work environment, and the recognition of domestic and caregiving work.
