THE THE ROLE OF LEADERSHIP, EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND TEAMWORK IN ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE: A Case Study in a Furniture Industry

Leadership, emotional intelligence, and teamwork are essential for the recognition of quality and successful work. Thus, the objective of this article is to analyze the perceptions of production leaders regarding leadership and teamwork practices, and to evaluate the relevance of emotional intelligence for organizational performance. To operationalize this study, a descriptive survey was used, with a quantitative approach and the case study method with a questionnaire with closed multiple-choice questions applied to 10 production leaders of a medium-sized furniture industry. The results show that 70% of the leaders consider themselves well evaluated by their teams, and 60% believe that feedback techniques, such as 360º feedback, can improve their leadership skills. In addition, the results indicate that the continuous development of emotional skills and the implementation of practices can be effective strategies to strengthen leadership and team cohesion, contributing to the improvement of organizational performance and the sustainable success of production operations.
