THE IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON BRAZILIAN AGRIBUSINESS

The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus decreed in March 2020 in Brazil by the World Health Organization (WHO), affected several sectors of the country, including Agribusiness. The WHO adopted measures to contain the transmission of the virus, such as limiting the movement of people and banning fairs and events, with that some economies were impacted. In view of the problem, this study carried out a bibliographic survey with the aim of identifying the main impacts of the new coronavirus pandemic (SARS-CoV-2) on Brazilian Agribusiness to date and understanding the possible trends in responses to these identified impacts. The results surveyed generally infer that there were no major impacts on agribusiness, because even with the high prices of food, and the drop in some segments, in addition to other adversities, agribusiness is one of the only sectors with results positive aspects in the GDP, the positive aspects were given by the rises in exports. Corroborating the importance of the sector for the Brazilian economy in times of crisis.
