Feasibility analysis of a small hydroponic lettuce project

Abstract

Agricultural lettuce production has been gaining ground due to improved eating habits. Today, hydroponic projects are alternatives to offer food in quantity, quality and remunerate producers to scale production. The work contextualizes the financial viability of a hydroponic project in an area of ​​500m², taking into account three types of scenarios (normal, with increased sales and reduced). The methodology used was the literature review and financial indicators: NPV; Payback, TIR, TMA, ROI. The estimated average productivity is approximately 10,000 units per month, with an average revenue of R $ 10,000.00, for better understanding, three scenarios were created, the normal, whose revenue not on variation, the one with positive variation with an increase of 10% and negative variation in 10%. For this project in the normal scenario, the return in time occurs after five years, with NPV of R $ 27,145.67, IRR of 26% and ROI of 192%; in the scenario of increase, the payback time occurs after three years, with a NPV of R $ 33,290.24, an IRR of 30% and an ROI of 221%; in the reduction scenario, the return comes in six years, the NPV is R $ 21,001.10, an IRR of 23% and an ROI of 162%. Thus, the project presents viability regardless of the scenario submitted and provides a parameter for the entrepreneur to compare with other investments and decide what is most interesting.
