Abstract

This study compares the performance of virtual machines provided by Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, focused on personal use scenarios requiring high graphic and computational power, such as gaming and artificial intelligence applications. The research addresses a gap in the literature, which mainly focuses on corporate environments, neglecting individual user needs. Equivalent instances (4 vCPUs, 28 GB RAM, and NVIDIA T4 GPU with 16 GB) were tested on both platforms, evaluating cost-effectiveness, graphical performance in GTA V Enhanced and Cyberpunk 2077, and AI efficiency using the Orca 2 model from GPT4All. The results showed that Microsoft Azure has a slight advantage in 1080p gaming performance, while Google Cloud stood out in AI tasks, 4K performance, and lower hourly cost. It is concluded that both platforms are suitable for personal use, with the ideal choice depending on the user profile and intended application.
