Abstract

It is well known that inventory management in warehouses is accompanied by several challenges, which require meticulous approaches to ensure operational effectiveness. In this sense, the objective of this research is to investigate the specific challenges faced by materials management in a warehouse, analyzing the processes, technologies and strategies adopted by the company. To this end, this study is based on descriptive research of a qualitative nature, using a semi-structured interview guide applied to three employees, being operationalized through a case study conducted in a soybean processing company in the food sector. The results emphasize the need for an effective merchandise control system and the importance of technologies such as ERP and transparent communication. It is suggested to implement an inventory management system integrated with SAP, team training and follow-up to monitor and evaluate the services provided, aiming to optimize operational efficiency and ensure long-term success. The study also highlights the value of integrating technologies and the relevance of the warehouse for managing stocks and continuous flow of materials, highlighting it crucial role in the functioning of the company and in reducing costs.
