Abstract

Notoriously, the advancement of industrial technologies, especially in the Industry 4.0 era, has in many cases impacted the mental health of workers. Therefore, this article aims to investigate and analyze the impact of new technologies in the industry on workers' mental health, identifying positive and negative points and mechanisms involved in this relationship. To this end, through descriptive research, using a qualitative approach and the case study method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with five professionals from different industrial sectors. The results show that, despite the benefits such as increased productivity and reduction of repetitive tasks, the introduction of these technologies also generates challenges, such as job insecurity, stress and difficulties in adapting. The research highlights the importance of organizational support during the technological transition, including adequate training and psychological support. Although technological innovations can improve production processes, it is crucial to consider the impacts on employees' mental health and implement strategies that promote a balance between efficiency and well-being.
